There are two main divisions within the business, which employs around 40 staff – Graham Robertson Electrical & Security Ltd and Graham Robertson Sony Centre. The current owners are brothers, Graham and Moray Robertson. They are the 3rd generation of the family to take over the reigns of the business, first established as an electrician’s by their grandfather in 1934.
The company is now run from Unit2, 15 Borrowmeadow Road in Stirling with the Sony Centres, one at Galloway court, Falkirk and the other on Fountain Road, Bridge of Allan. All Graham Robertson services are available through both branches with centralised administration in Stirling.
Their electrical contracting division employs over 15 electricians and 10 apprentices. The company is SELECT & NSI Approved, offering a full range of both domestic and commercial electrical services – everything from rewiring houses, new lighting and general domestic repairs to the installation and maintenance of TV aerials and satellite systems, security system (CCTV, alarms, etc) and complete multi-room home audio-visual systems. No job is ever too big or too small!!
Electrical contracting and repairs remained the mainstay of the Graham Robertson brand until the early 1970’s when the decision was made to become a Sony Dealer. Such has been the success with this partnership, that many local people automatically link the name “Graham Robertson” with Sony. The trading title “Sony Centre” is a clear sign to consumers that Graham Robertson Sony Centres provide the best Sony service available. It is a high accolade; awarded only to retailers Sony considers to be “at the pinnacle of the retail pyramid”. In terms of appearance, product range, staff standards etc. Not only the achieving UK Sony Centre of the Year in 2005, the staff are Sony trained, but also, as an authorised Sony Service Centre, fully trained service engineers are available in-house should anything require attention.
